Various types of paper for receipt printing machines

Today, almost all shops and shopping centers use printers to print their receipts. It’s faster and simpler to make invoices so customers don’t have to wait for a long time. There are various types of paper that you can find to make various types of Till Rolls, Chip and Pin Rolls, Plain paper and Multiply Rolls available, we have created this guide. Three types of paper rolls are commonly used in Cash Register, Tills, Chip and Pin Machines, Credit Card Machines, and Kitchen Printers. Here are the types.

1. Thermal Paper Roll

Thermal Paper is a special paper that has a smooth surface. Thermal paper has a layer containing the formulated material that changes color when exposed to heat. Usually, people use thermal paper in the printing process without ink, people use it in thermal printers. Thermal printers and paper are often found on cash registers, tills, and credit card swipe machines. Thermal paper usually comes in single rolls and is available in white and standard colors such as pink, yellow, blue, and green. If you look at the properties and to maintain product performance, you should store thermal paper stock away from moisture, not exposed to direct sunlight, and store in a dry place. Also, keep thermal paper away from heat-producing sources and cleaning fluids/solvents. The receipts that you print on Thermal paper can last for a long time if you store them in a place away from light and heat sources.

2. Grade A Paper Rolls

Grade A paper is the most common type of paper. Many people use this paper to produce plain paper rolls, and can also make various types of paper. Grade A paper has the best performance on Till, Kitchen Printers, and Cash Register. By using this type of paper, you will get maximum print results. Unlike the storage method with Thermal Rolls, A-Grade paper is less affected by heat and direct sunlight. However, to last a long time and the quality does not decrease, you should save this paper in the same way you store Thermal paper.

3. Carbonless Paper

Ordinary carbonless paper is also known as non-carbon copy paper, Carbonless copy paper (CCP), or No Carbon Required (NCR) paper. We often hear the term NCR, what exactly is NCR? NCR is a type of coated paper that has the function of transferring information written on the top sheet of paper to the bottom sheet. Carbonless paper is a sheet of paper that contains a dye that aims to transfer the writing or printout from the first paper to the second paper which is located underneath without the need for carbon pigment.

There are two types of carbonless paper, namely 2-layer and 3-layer carbonless paper. These layers of paper have different colors so you can tell which one is original and which is a copy. This type of paper can usually be found in kitchen printers, which are located in places that have high temperatures and humidity, where you cannot use Thermal paper. Although it is heat and humidity resistant, it is a good idea to keep your carbonless paper stock in the same way as the previous two types. This is so that the paper can have a long service life.
