When you install electrical installations for lamps

As the name implies, cable ties are cable ties which are generally made of nylon plastic with several sizes and qualities. Besides being made of nylon plastic, cable ties can also be made of stainless steel with different size and colours. Besides functioning to tie cables, cable ties can also be used to tidy up other objects in your home and office.

Cable ties are designed to have resistance to weather and various chemicals, can be used indoors or outdoors. Although commonly used as a tool for tying electrical cables, a cable tie is an essential, versatile tool of any electrician. Cable ties are a solution for bundling cables. Zip ties are generally disposable and can be trimmed as desired size for neatness. When you need high strength cable ties to hold certain objects or bundle heavy cables, tensile strength is the most important factor to consider.

What is a Zip Tie Tensile Strength?

The tensile strength of a zip tie is the amount of weight a zip tie can hold securely without breaking. For example, one zip tie with a tensile strength of 120 lbs would break if we use it to hold something that has weigh more than 120 pounds.

The tensile strength of a cable tie is very important when fastening heavy objects, such as when using a strap to secure something to a wall or ceiling or on or in a vehicle. If you use a cable tie that exceeds its tensile strength, there is a very high chance that the item will fall from where it is secured. Strong zipper fasteners are most often used for bundling and suspending heavy loads.

How strong are cable ties? Some of the most common zip ties and their respective tensile strengths are:

– Miniature Cable Ties have a tensile strength of 18 lbs.
– Medium Ties have a tensile strength of 40 lb.
– Standard Cable Ties have a tensile strength of 50 lb.
– Light Heavy Duty Cable Ties have a tensile strength of 120 lbs.
– Heavy Duty Cable Ties have a tensile strength of 175 lbs.
– Extra Heavy Duty Cable Ties have a tensile strength of 250 lbs.

Can cable ties melt or stand to heat? Most Cable ties can withstand temperature to 185°F (85°C) and have a melting point of 495°F (257°C). All cable ties usually remain flexible on temperature between –40°F (–40°C).

Not only cable ties can use to bind cables, pipes and other linier hoses but they can also be used as art and clothing. Can you believe it? Although it is not uncommon, yes there are decorative accessories and even clothes made by designers from cable ties.
